Ameshia graduated from San Francisco State University to pursue an elementary school teaching career in high-poverty areas. After some time as a teacher, Ameshia realized that before the children and parents could pursue education, they would need to be supported in connecting to resources and therapy for trauma and stress. With this insight, Ameshia pursued a degree in social work at CSU Sacramento. Once Ameshia obtained her Master of Social Work, she worked in a variety of communities including transitional aged youth, older adults, LGBTQ, Hmong, Men, African American, Latino, cancer patients, and several others. In each of these communities, Ameshia found great success in helping clients clarify and overcome challenges, increase insight, and improve their lives.
